Hospital Charge Specialist - Remote

Overview

Sentara Health is hiring a Hospital Charge Specialist for the Outpatient Coding & Audit Department. This position is responsible for complete, compliant, and timely daily charge capture of departmental chargeable services and ensuring all appropriate billing charges are documented and reimbursed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• CPC/COC/CCA/CCS certification required within 1 year of hire.
• 1+ years experience in related fields preferred.
• Knowledge of billing and coding practices.
• Ability to work remotely and manage time effectively.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with physicians.
• Familiarity with compliance guidelines.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Proficient in using EMR systems, preferably Epic.
