HVAC Airflow Loop design release engineer - Remote

Overview

The HVAC Release Engineer is responsible for the development and validation of the automotive HVAC unit and airflow loop components, ensuring they meet performance objectives and coordinating development with various functional areas.

In Short

• Develop and validate automotive HVAC unit and airflow loop components.
• Coordinate development with IP, hard trim, BIW, Aero/Thermal, Engine Cooling, PDO, and suppliers.
• Write source packages, specifications, requirements, and change notices.
• Manage suppliers to meet program timing and deliverables.
• Maintain component and sub-system DVP&R.
• Support component bench testing and simulation.
• Lead virtual team for CFD analysis of ducts.
• Support pilot build process at the assembly plant.
• Perform data analysis and establish corrective actions.
• Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• 1-5 years of experience in HVAC and duct design/development.
• Strong PC and MS Office skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills.
• Experience with DFMEA and DVP&R.
• Basic thermodynamics knowledge.
• Experience in HVAC, PTC’s, ducts, and outlets is a plus.
• Experience using CAD software (NX, Catia, etc.).
• Automotive assembly plant experience is preferred.
