The Desktop Publisher Specialist provides technical editing, formatting, and accessibility compliance support for Coast Guard publications, ensuring documents meet required standards.

In Short

• Full-time remote position supporting U.S. Coast Guard publications.
• Perform copy editing, line editing, and proofreading.
• Apply Coast Guard-approved templates and formatting standards.
• Conduct Section 508 tagging and basic remediation.
• Process ALCOAST messages during assigned coverage windows.
• Support S+ Superspeed publication workflows.
• Maintain publication metadata in Power Apps library.
• Integrate and review Coast Guard forms for compliance alignment.
• Coordinate directly with Sponsors to refine drafts.
• Validate plain language and grammatical accuracy.

Requirements

• 2–5 years editing and publication support experience OR Bachelor’s degree.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Adobe Pro, SharePoint.
• Beginning to intermediate Power Apps proficiency.
• Strong mastery of English grammar and style.
• Ability to obtain/maintain CAC.
• Experience applying Section 508 compliance standards.
