Senior Security Engineer - Remote

Overview

As a Senior Security Engineer at Scribd, you will be integral to our security strategy, working with various security tools to protect our systems and data while designing automation and tooling to streamline security operations.

In Short

• Configure, maintain, and integrate security tooling into our SDLC.
• Analyze security tool findings and collaborate with teams to remediate risks.
• Participate in threat modeling and secure design.
• Stay current with security trends and recommend new tools.
• Perform incident response for security breaches.
• Develop automated solutions for security-related tasks.
• Provide expertise in Information, Cloud, and Application Security.
• Conduct “Red Team”-style assessments.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a security engineering role.
• Proven ability to take ownership of high-impact projects.
• Ability to define security plans and influence roadmaps.
• Deep understanding of securing web applications.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language (Ruby, Python, or Go).
• Familiarity with a frontend stack (preferably React).
• Familiarity with security frameworks and regulations.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code technologies.
• Experience with SIEM technologies.
• Experience performing manual secure code reviews.
