Overview

The State Government Affairs Policy Manager will report to Scout Motors’ Director, State Government Affairs and will play a critical strategic and business role in helping to develop, implement and manage Scout Motors’ government affairs and public policy initiatives.

In Short

  • Support the implementation of Scout Motors state government affairs strategy.
  • Monitor, track, and report on proposed legislation.
  • Maintain and update a comprehensive legislative tracking database.
  • Assist in managing Scout’s portfolio of policy-related memberships.
  • Build strong relationships with local government policymakers.
  • Represent Scout Motors in industry and advocacy groups.
  • Collaborate with other teams to foster grassroots support.
  • Participate in in-person meetings and events as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 8 years of experience in governmental affairs or public policy.
  • Excellent writing and research skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of state and local legislative processes.
  • Experience in public policy advocacy.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
