Senior / Staff Backend Engineer - Remote

Overview

Rye is a seed-stage startup with an amazing founding team that includes Justin Kan, co-founder of Twitch, and founders from Reddit and Goldman Sachs. We build infrastructure for startups, focusing on developing APIs and systems that integrate with external platforms like Shopify, Amazon, and more. Our core systems impact all things eCommerce: tracking orders, order placement, returns, and inventory and search. We're proud of our best-in-class tooling that includes a GraphQL API, a gRPC backend system, and Node.js services.

• Looking for a Senior / Staff Backend Engineer.
• Remote-first team, currently in PST timezone.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in backend engineering.
• Proficiency in Typescript and Node.js.
• Experience building systems with a GraphQL API and a gRPC backend system.
• Strong understanding of best practices in software development and engineering.
• Experience working with external platforms like Shopify, Commerce Cloud, and Adobe Commerce.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Good technical writer.
