Finance Manager - Remote

Overview

The Finance Manager is responsible for creating predictive models to estimate Ryder’s $1B spent on vehicle maintenance per year and works with Operations leadership to analyze cost variances.

In Short

• Create predictive models in R or Python for maintenance costs.
• Analyze cost variances and update future predictions.
• Prepare monthly actual vs planned cost variance analysis.
• Mine data in SQL to discover trends and profitability.
• Develop ad-hoc reports as requested by leadership.
• Partner with business leaders to formulate decision science strategies.
• Ensure accuracy while loading plan and forecast numbers.
• Improve data literacy and promote data-driven decision making.
• Display attention to detail in financial reporting.
• Drive business results with data-based insights.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; Master's or MBA preferred.
• 10+ years in Finance or Accounting required.
• Experience in Transportation or Logistics preferred.
• 4+ years of management experience required.
• Proficiency in SQL, R, and Python.
• Advanced knowledge of financial modeling.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Passion for discovering solutions in large data sets.
• Ability to provide recommendations to senior management.
• Intellectual curiosity for continuous improvement.
