Overview

The Finance Manager will be working directly with our COO and Ops team across a wide array of tasks required to scale an early-stage company. We need someone who is excited to get their hands dirty, to work broadly and comfortably with ambiguity, and who has high levels of detail orientation and quality control.

In Short

  • Lead all financial operations, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, reconciliation, cash management, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, management accounting and control activities.
  • Align finances with the company’s subsidiary in Indonesia by coordinating group accounts, managing intracompany payments, invoicing, and transfer pricing.
  • Produce insightful month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reports for senior leaders and Board members.
  • Collaborate with external accountants to ensure the timely and accurate production of year-end statutory accounts and R&D tax credit claims.
  • Partner with internal teams on project-specific financial operations such as reporting, budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, reconciliation, and cash management.
  • Work closely with senior management on business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modelling.
  • Implement, integrate and maintain finance systems while fostering a culture of continuous automation and process improvement.
  • Manage and develop the Finance Administrative Associate.
  • Identify financial risks, ensure compliance with applicable jurisdictions, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Support additional tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of experience at a senior level within a finance function.
  • Accountancy qualification essential (ACCA or CIMA (fully qualified)).
  • Good background understanding of a wide range of financial practices, theory, and processes.
  • High proficiency with financial modelling for a range of use cases.
  • Excellent numerical and data analysis skills.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail with great analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with financial software (Xero, Spendesk, Telleroo, business banking) and managing financial data.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and up-skilling quickly (e.g. different processes required in other countries).
  • Resilience and the ability to make difficult things happen, being comfortable in a start-up environment.
  • Ability to operate autonomously while managing multiple projects.
  • Mission, values and impact-driven.
  • A proven ability to work effectively in diverse cultural settings.
  • An understanding of nature-based solutions and experience with startup funding rounds is desirable but not a must.

Benefits

  • Shared purpose, culture and values.
  • Employee share options.
  • Unbeatable work flexibility and balance - a truly remote first role with the option to visit our office space in London if that’s what works best for you.
  • A diverse team of colleagues, partners and clients based all around the world.
  • Generously enhanced, gender-neutral parental leave policy.
  • Wellbeing support, including company-funded access to therapy for anyone who needs it.
  • Company pension.
  • Company laptop + home-office set-up allowance.
