Engineering Manager - Remote

Overview

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a new cross-functional team at Rasa, reporting directly to the Director of Engineering. You’ll work closely with a product manager and designer to shape, deliver, and iterate on features that push the boundaries of conversational AI. Your mission: grow an empowered, high-performing engineering team that thrives in a fast-moving, remote-first environment.

• Own team structure, processes, and ways of working, tailoring them to support speed and quality
• Mentor and coach engineers in their technical and professional development
• Drive cross-functional alignment across engineering, product, and design
• Motivate others to reach their potential and hold them accountable while providing continuous feedback
• Champion strong async communication practices in a remote-first setup
• Contribute to improving DEI in hiring, team dynamics, and leadership practices
• Support your team by removing blockers, reviewing PRs, and occasionally contributing features or prototypes

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams, ideally in startup environments
• Strong communicator and educator, showing empathy
• Experience as a senior software engineer (preferably Fullstack engineer) on complex, scalable systems
• Experience in prototyping or PoC-heavy environments
• Strong product and business sense
• Excitement about generative AI and large language models (LLMs)
• Desire to work at a fast-paced startup
