Senior Software Engineer - Infrastructure - Remote

Overview

This role focuses on Quora product development, working within a small engineering team to solve challenging problems and enhance scalability, reliability, and performance of infrastructure systems.

• Manage and operate backend databases and services (MySQL, HBase, Memcached, Redis, Nginx).
• Continuously improve infrastructure systems for scalability and reliability.
• Engage in code development and review, system upgrades, and technical documentation.

• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency response.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Proficiency in data storage and traffic management technologies.
• Strong coding skills in Python, C++, or similar programming languages.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to independently debug production issues.
• Proficient in English for communication in a work environment.
