Senior Database Administrator, PostgreSQL - Remote

Overview

The Senior Database Consultant will provide complete support for all aspects of database and application infrastructure to a variety of clients, ensuring reliability and performance in PostgreSQL environments.

In Short

• Provide client service associated with Database Consultants including analysis, design, implementation, and administration.
• Administer backup procedures and disaster recovery plans.
• Oversee backup, clustering, mirroring, replication, failover, and restoration of databases.
• Develop and maintain complex data architectures.
• Manage incidents and develop technical procedures for regular requests.
• Prepare client status and incident reports.
• Participate in pre-sales activities and client visits.
• Mentor team members and prepare training materials.
• Be available for 24/7 escalations from the DBC team.

Requirements

• Experience in installing, configuring, and upgrading PostgreSQL databases.
• Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with scripting (bash/python) and software development (C++, Java, Go).
• Knowledge of automation technologies like Ansible and Terraform.
• Debugging skills and troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience with monitoring tools for PostgreSQL databases.
• Experience with High Availability solutions for PostgreSQL.
• Experience in database migrations from different database engines.
