Indirect Tax Manager - Remote

Overview

The Indirect Tax Manager will lead and manage all aspects of indirect tax compliance and audit management for Public Storage and its related entities in 40 states across the U.S.

In Short

• Provide strategic direction for all indirect tax compliance activities.
• Lead and develop the outsourced property tax team.
• Oversee outsourcing relationship for sales tax processes.
• Ensure accurate compilation and filing of tax returns.
• Direct communication with tax authorities.
• Lead state and local indirect tax audits.
• Conduct indirect tax research and advisory services.
• Identify opportunities for process automation and improvement.
• Monitor tax compliance for all company locations.
• Review and update tax procedure manuals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in a corporate tax environment.
• 2+ years of experience managing staff or projects.
• Experience managing third-party vendors in tax compliance.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to excel in fast-paced environments.
• Experience with CMI certification is a plus.
