Overview

The Environmental Engineer will primarily be working remotely and traveling periodically to large industrial facilities such as refineries, chemical plants, and oil & gas facilities. The primary responsibility is to focus on day-to-day process development, implementation, and improvement of environmental related tasks specific to refinery operations.

In Short

  • Develop, implement, and improve processes to maintain regulatory compliance for environmental permits and regulations.
  • Perform complex emission calculations to support permit applications and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to read and understand P&IDs to identify process vessels and components.
  • Collect information and maintain environmental data records.
  • Negotiate compliance issues with stakeholders.
  • Engage in new rule development and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Lead/participate in agency inspections and audits.
  • Promote environmental opportunities and improvements.
  • Monitor emerging environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Manage multiple activities with varying timelines.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering or science disciplines required.
  • 3-5 years of process, civil, or environmental engineering experience.
  • Industrial experience preferred, with knowledge of P&IDs.
  • Public speaking and leadership skills.
  • Excellent negotiating and communication skills.
  • Ability to empathize with customers and employees.
  • Discipline and organization skills.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a TWIC card.
