Data Engineer (Contract) - Remote

Overview

Protect Democracy seeks highly motivated data engineers to join our data & engineering team on a contract basis for three months, with potential for conversion to full-time employee. We’re looking for someone who is excited to grow with the team and contribute to Protect Democracy’s mission over the long term.

In Short

• Contract position for data engineers with potential for full-time employment.

• Responsibilities include architecting and deploying ETL frameworks using Python.

• Hourly rate of $120-$150 depending on experience.
• Remote work is established across many states in the USA.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Experience with Python and ETL frameworks.
• Proficient in writing reusable and maintainable code.
• Experience in developing testing suites for data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases, specifically Postgres.
• Strong SQL skills including query optimization.
• Ability to document complex systems clearly.
• Flexibility to start immediately.
• Commitment to the mission of preventing authoritarianism.
• Portfolio showcasing past projects is preferred.
