In Short

• Design and draft engineered floor systems for residential and light commercial construction.
• Create and modify layout drawings, calculations, and specifications using Javelin and MiTek software.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure designs meet code requirements and project goals.
• Perform job site visits to verify field conditions and provide onsite design support.
• Review and optimize designs to minimize waste and ensure efficient use of materials.
• Establish and maintain design and production schedules.
• Provide technical support and design-related insights throughout the project lifecycle.
• Create modification work orders or floor system repairs as needed.
• Document design iterations for quality assurance.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Diploma in Architectural, Civil, or Construction Engineering Technology, or a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in engineered wood floor system design.
• Proven experience with Javelin and MiTek software.
• Strong understanding of structural design principles.
• Solid knowledge of wood products and construction methods.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
• Strong communication skills for effective coordination.
• Advanced proficiency in Javelin, MiTek, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in technical design.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
