Team Leader - Compute - Remote

Overview

As the Compute Team Lead, you'll guide the engineering team responsible for the compute platform that drives the core services of our client, balancing hands-on technical work with leadership.

In Short

• Lead and grow a high-performing team of ~8 software engineers.
• Drive architectural decisions for the compute platform.
• Remain hands-on with code (approx. 50% of your time).
• Design, implement, and optimize core compute services.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, and Backend teams.
• Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and mentorship.
• Foster ownership, accountability, and a culture of engineering excellence.
• Translate strategic goals into clear execution plans.
• Champion best practices in software development and automation.
• Be a key decision-maker in platform evolution.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering.
• At least 2+ years in a technical leadership or management role.
• Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Strong experience with Golang for backend systems.
• Proven expertise in infrastructure and platform engineering.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and service mesh concepts.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
• Experience automating CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid understanding of Linux systems and networking.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
