Director of Project Development - West - Remote

Overview

The Director of Project Development is responsible for managing all phases of solar project development, acting as a business developer for specific U.S. and/or international projects, and mentoring junior team members.

• Manage the planning and execution of business development opportunities.
• Identify and secure renewable power customers and manage the project pipeline.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants for project viability.
• Lead due diligence processes for projects.
• Serve as liaison between project development and financial analysis teams.
• Develop and maintain relationships with industry contacts.
• Prepare project budgets and assist in budget reviews.
• Negotiate and obtain necessary development permits for solar projects.

• Adhere to company policies and business ethics codes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in renewable energy project development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or similar discipline.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Experience in commercial negotiation environments.
• Strong knowledge of the renewable energy market dynamics.
• Track record of closing renewable energy deals.
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
