Overview

Porter is hiring an Accountant to join our growing team! In this role, you will assist our CFO and Senior Accountant with payroll processing and financial planning.

In Short

• Assist CFO and Senior Accountant with payroll management.
• Process payroll for employees and contractors across multiple states.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws.
• Prepare and file tax documents and maintain employee records.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and adjust payroll processes.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies.
• Collaborate with HR and Finance teams for accurate payroll data.
• Maintain confidentiality and data security of payroll information.
• Support audits with accurate payroll data and documentation.
• Uphold high standards of organizational and time management skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 1+ year experience in accounting and payroll.
• Familiarity with payroll tax laws and multi-state processing.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax codes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to secure sensitive documents and systems.
