Intern, Public Policy - Remote

Overview

This internship provides exposure to how a national bank evaluates and responds to legislative and regulatory developments in the financial services sector.

In Short

• Support Pathward’s policy function on banking and fintech issues.
• Monitor federal legislative and regulatory activity.
• Draft internal memoranda analyzing policy developments.
• Analyze legislative impacts on business models.
• Prepare materials for senior leadership briefings.
• Conduct research on financial services policy issues.
• Track stakeholder engagement across Congress and regulators.
• Flexibility in internship structure (full-time or part-time).
• Remote position with occasional in-person engagement in DC.
• Internship expected to run from June through August.

Requirements

• Current law student (1L or 2L) or graduate student in public policy.
• Interest in financial services policy, banking, payments, or fintech.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze complex information clearly.
• Experience with legal, policy, or regulatory research preferred.
