Overview

Owkin is building the first universal AI Operating System called K to lay the foundation for Biological Artificial Superintelligence (BASI). This OS integrates a suite of AI agents that decode complex biology, accelerate research, and dramatically increase productivity. Acting as copilots, Owkin K agents will automate drug discovery and diagnostics and power next-gen pharma companies.

Owkin’s OS will be powered by the world’s largest federated multimodal patient data network, a robotized lab, leading AGI technologies, and cutting-edge multimodal foundation models and LLMs.

About the role:

Within the Diagnostic team, our ambition is to potentiate precision diagnosis in oncology with artificial intelligence applied to digital pathology. Pathology slide images, taken from biopsied or resected tissues, are a yet-untapped, ultra-high dimensional data modality that offer a huge potential for deep learning application to better understand disease, optimize patient care & improve treatment decisions.

You will be in charge of creating and designing the IT architecture for Owkin software products to enable their deployment at external sites (hospitals, private labs, research labs…) for use in either clinical studies or clinical routine. You will also be in charge of deploying Owkin software products on these external sites.

In particular, you will:

Lead technical presentations and workshops dedicated to the design of the target solution with Partners’ IT teams and/or within Owkin, both on-premise and on the cloud. 
Provide detailed specifications for the proposed IT solutions including hosting specifications, network flow matrix, RACI and security and you will document them.
Be familiar with a wide range of technologies (DevOps, GitOps, Open Source software) and infrastructure (from physical server via lower layers to Kubernetes architecture concepts & solutions)
Contribute to Infra as Code (documentation, scripting) with the DevOps team.
Deploy Owkin software products according to established specifications.
Support the Customer Support team by being the first technical interface in initial technical meetings with customers, but also in the case of technical investigations.
Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health, and manage the full product lifecycle (including decommissioning).
Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.
Work in a multidisciplinary team of solution architects, site reliability engineers and software engineers.

About you

Required qualifications / experience:

MSc or BSc or equivalent degree in computer science or software engineering or an associated field
3 years (or equivalent) of industrial experience on critical infrastructure and on architecture design for industries such as healthcare, insurance, finance or military
Good knowledge in several areas amongst :

Public Cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure, etc.)
Distributed storage technologies (NFS, HDFS, Ceph, S3, etc.)
Network (NAT, VPN, firewall)
Operating Systems (Linux/Unix-like) and Hypervisor
Containers & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Automation (Flux, Ansible, Terraform)
Monitoring and alerting tools (Prometheus)
DevOps, GitOps, CI/CD, APIs, security

Knowledge of development collaboration tools (git, Jira)
Experience in cyber security and applicable standards (in particular ISO 27001)
Highly organized and meticulous about details, capable of tackling complex problems logically and effectively, able to deliver in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Good communication and efficient interaction with stakeholders and clients, promotion of partnership spirit, fluent in English (French is a plus)
Able to coordinate several threads of discussions & projects in parallel at various stage of progress

Preferred qualifications/bonus:

A TOGAF or a Cloud Architect (AWS SA / AZ-104) certification is a plus
French is a plus
