Medical Coder - Remote

Overview

The Medical Coder is responsible for coding all physician, clinical, and surgical claims, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of CPT and ICD10 code assignments for claims submission.

• Key point of contact for coding information
• Provides onsite coding and documentation education
• Stays updated with payer regulations and documentation requirements
• Assigns ICD-10 and CPT codes for procedures
• Maintains knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and coding policies
• Coding in-office E&M services and surgeries
• Reviews patient medical records
• Ensures accuracy and completeness of coded data

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3 years of coding experience, preferably in orthopedics
• Certification from AAPC or CPC
• Advanced knowledge of coding guidelines
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
• Ability to maintain professional relationships
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
• EPIC experience preferred
