Mechanical Engineer 4 (NSSS Systems Design) - Remote

Overview

The NSSS Mechanical Systems Engineering organization is focused on the NuScale Power Module System Design including nuclear steam supply system (NSSS) component design inspection and testing in accordance with nuclear industry codes, standards and regulatory requirements.

In Short

• Remote work within the contiguous United States with travel as required.
• Perform mechanical engineering assignments on NSSS including system and detailed component design.
• Review and evaluate various plant systems to ensure design and performance requirements are met.
• Prepare, check, and review engineering reports, specifications, and other design documents.
• Collaborate with a multi-discipline team to propose innovative design solutions.
• Mentor and provide technical direction to less experienced engineers.
• Serve as a technical lead for NSSS components and systems design.
• Possess extensive product knowledge of NSSS components.
• Interface with NuScale Licensing for regulatory efforts.
• Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical).
• 10 years of relevant nuclear experience required.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Knowledge of ASME Sections III & XI Codes and Standards.
• Experience in NSSS Component Design, Inspection & Testing.
• Ability to manage complex projects with multiple work phases.
• Registered professional engineer license (P.E) is desired.
• Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
• Knowledge of NDE requirements and techniques.
• Experience with domestic nuclear licensing support preferred.
