Overview

The Hospital A/R Collector is responsible for resolving outstanding surgical claims to ensure maximum reimbursement, requiring strong knowledge in medical collections and related processes.

In Short

  • Act as a resource for all critical aspects of the CBO.
  • Timely follow-up on all outstanding accounts receivable.
  • Manage daily work queue prioritizing high dollar claims.
  • Leverage knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid for claim resolution.
  • Review insurance payments for accuracy based on contracts.
  • Justify medical necessity through documentation review.
  • Send appeals and provide necessary documentation.
  • Recommend adjustments or refunds for overpayments.
  • Work on 30 accounts daily with high accuracy rating.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned based on business need.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of third-party payer or hospital clerical experience.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and multi-task.
  • Experience with Cerner, nThrive, or similar preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
