Site Reliability Engineer, Monitoring and Control Engineering - Remote

Overview

The Site Reliability Engineer role focuses on the engineering, operations, support, deployment, and maintenance of core Distribution Engineering Monitoring and Control systems at NBCUniversal.

In Short

• Develop and enhance monitoring/alerting tools for on-air environments.
• Ensure healthy environments through automated monitoring infrastructure.
• Create system dashboards to improve availability and reliability.
• Query data stores to assess reported issues.
• Act as a Level 2 resource for Broadcast issues.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support on a rotating schedule.
• Create documentation for issue resolution.
• Administer monitoring and control systems.
• Utilize modern frameworks and scripting languages.
• Drive product evaluations and proof of concept deployments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• 3-5+ years experience with monitoring and alerting tools.
• 3-5 years of SRE experience in cloud environments.
• Experience with scripting languages like Python and Bash.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD practices.
• Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Ability to use Agile processes for project management.
