PKI Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Engineer will be a key member of the new Versant Cyber organization and is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the cryptographic infrastructure used to secure communications, authenticate identities, and protect data across digital systems.

In Short

• Manage enterprise Certificate Authorities (CAs).
• Maintain Certificate Revocation Lists (CRLs) and Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) services.
• Oversee the issuance, renewal, and revocation of various certificates.
• Implement certificate lifecycle automation.
• Ensure adherence to industry best practices for encryption and signing.
• Stay current with NIST guidelines and corporate cryptographic policies.
• Manage private key protection using HSMs or cloud KMS.
• Investigate and remediate certificate-related outages.
• Collaborate with adjacent security functions.
• Promote an environment of collaboration, diversity, and inclusion.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years experience in IAM, security engineering, or infrastructure roles.
• Experience with cryptographic algorithms like RSA, ECC, and SHA-2.
• Experience managing PKI platforms such as Microsoft ADCS or AWS Certificate Manager.
• Deep understanding of TLS/SSL and code signing.
• Strong documentation skills for crypto policies.
• Ability to partner with teams across security and IT.
• Bachelor’s Degree in an IT related field.
