Facility Coding Manager - Remote

Overview

The Facility Coding Manager leads and provides consultation and training in coding to ensure quality and meet stringent billing and compliance standards.

• Leads the Facility Coding Department operations.
• Ensures timely completion of coding tasks.
• Collaborates with Clinical Documentation Improvement Manager.
• Manages and develops staff through recruitment and training.
• Maintains operational policies and procedures.
• Coordinates continuing education and audit findings for staff.
• Implements and maintains EMR/Coding systems.
• Prepares statistical reports and forecasts budgets.
• Fosters customer relationships and negotiates contracts.
• Requires reliable attendance and performance as scheduled.

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in health information management.
• Credentialed coder (RHIA, RHIT, CPC or CCS).
• Extensive technical experience in coding.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• 3 years of experience in a large acute care hospital setting.
• 2 years of management experience.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
