Operating Room Nurse (RN) - Remote

Overview

The Operating Room Nurse (RN) at Nantucket Cottage Hospital is responsible for assessing patients preoperatively, planning and implementing nursing care during surgical procedures, and ensuring effective communication with the healthcare team.

In Short

• Full-time position, 40 hours per week.
• Day shift with on-call responsibilities.
• Assess and plan nursing care for surgical patients.
• Demonstrate expertise in operating room procedures.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with regulations.
• Document nursing assessments and care plans.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members.
• Cover central supply responsibilities as needed.
• Participate in orientation and supervision of personnel.
• Must be available for overnight stays during patient transports.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• At least two years of perioperative experience required.
• Current Massachusetts RN license required.
• BLS/CPR certification required within one week of hire.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required within 6 months of hire.
• CNOR certification highly recommended within two years.
• Ability to handle stress and work in emergency situations.
• Must be able to stand and walk for 90% of the shift.
• Technical skills to operate department-related equipment.
