Associate Engineer - Transportation Design - Remote

Overview

The Associate Engineer will be responsible for civil engineering duties related to transportation projects, including preparing technical reports and design elements in compliance with local and federal standards.

• Prepare technical reports, letters, and memos for transportation projects.
• Produce design elements for profile grades, drainage, and pavement.
• Calculate quantities and prepare engineering estimates.
• Perform preliminary field investigations and research.
• Prepare alternative design options and document findings.
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Documented experience in highway design and traffic signal analysis.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and/or Open Roads Designer.
• Ability to explain technical terms to non-engineers.
• May work remotely anywhere in California.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 2 years of work experience in transportation design.
• Expertise in roadway design and CAD drafting.
• Knowledge of Caltrans Highway Design Manual and local standards.
• Ability to communicate technical information effectively.
