Overview

This is a hybrid position consisting of clinic call-center responsibilities and coverage for the reception desk when the front desk is short-staffed. Provides exceptional customer service to patients in person and over the phone. Involves answering incoming calls, scheduling appointments, managing patient inquiries, checking patients in and out, and ensuring accurate and efficient communication and workflow.

In Short

  • Manages large volumes of inbound calls in a timely manner.
  • Aids patients and other entities contacting the clinic by telephone.
  • Schedules and cancels patient appointments.
  • Greets customers in a polite, prompt, and helpful manner.
  • Manages the patient check-in and check-out process.
  • Updates patient demographics and insurance.
  • Answers patient inquiries regarding appointments, billing, insurance, etc.
  • Maintains a clean and organized reception area.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and other clinic staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an office setting, preferably in customer service/healthcare.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of calls efficiently.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with phone systems, EMR systems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is a plus.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to type 40 WPM.
