Credit Deputy - Middle Market - Remote

Overview

Ensure that the quality of the Bank's commercial portfolio, existing business and new opportunities in the business segments align with the Bank's risk appetite and meet appropriate return levels.

In Short

• Decision credit requests using designated approval authority.
• Review early stage business opportunities and provide risk insights.
• Serve as a permanent voting member in Senior Loan Committee.
• Manage a team of 3 - 5 Senior Credit Officers.
• Participate in quarterly criticized asset meetings.
• Ensure credits are managed within Bank risk appetite.
• Promote sound underwriting practices.
• Communicate evolving risk tolerance with colleagues.
• Adhere to compliance and operational risk controls.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and minimum of 15 years commercial lending experience.
• 7 years of management experience.
• Proficiency with personal computers and common software.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide leadership in a consensus driven environment.
• In-depth knowledge of industries and businesses served.
• Ability to define creative solutions relative to credit structures.
• 20 years credit decisioning experience preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in 1st Line.
• Ability to act independently and make difficult decisions.
