Senior Java Engineer - Remote

Overview

Mama Money is a growth stage fintech startup focused on helping migrant workers in South Africa send money home. As a Senior Java Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining and implementing new services/features using a microservice architecture.

In Short

• Work in a small team to maintain existing services and implement new features.
• Focus on back-end systems using Java, Spring, and MariaDB.
• Utilize AWS technologies for service deployment.
• Adopt Agile principles and participate in Scrum processes.
• Engage in the full SDLC of new features.
• Implement test automation for new code.

Requirements

• At least 5 years’ experience in Java programming.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
• Commitment to writing simple, understandable code.
• Experience in implementing valuable test coverage.
• BSc in Computer Science or significant work experience is ideal.
• Experience with asynchronous microservice architectures.
• Experience designing and integrating REST APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud services, preferably AWS.
