Legacy System Modernization Consultant (COBOL/JCL to Databricks) - Remote

Overview

We are seeking experienced consultants to support the modernization of legacy mainframe applications, transforming them into scalable, cloud-native solutions.

In Short

• Analyze existing COBOL and JCL code to extract business logic and data workflows.
• Translate and re-engineer legacy processes using Databricks (PySpark, SQL, Delta Lake).
• Document system behavior and technical design for modern implementation.
• Work closely with architects, analysts, and developers to ensure accurate migration.
• Conduct unit testing, validation, and performance tuning of modernized code.
• Provide documentation and knowledge transfer for ongoing support.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with COBOL and JCL in a mainframe environment.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks, PySpark, and Delta Lake.
• Strong understanding of data migration and legacy modernization best practices.
• Proficiency with SQL and modern data engineering workflows.
• Ability to reverse-engineer and refactor legacy systems for cloud platforms.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
