In Short

• Responsible for underwriting residential mortgage loans in accordance with FHA, VA, USDA, FNMA, FHLMC, and private investor guidelines.
• Conduct thorough reviews of income and asset documentation.
• Make timely and accurate underwriting decisions.
• Clearly communicate underwriting guidelines and corporate underwriting policies.
• Interact and contribute in a team setting.
• Properly interpret complex personal and business financial documents.
• Provide basic underwriting training to team members.
• Must maintain regular attendance.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) years of in-depth knowledge and experience in mortgage loan underwriting.
• Valid FHA DE/CHUMS ID, preferred.
• SAR, LAPP and VA Automatic, preferred.
• Proficiency with DU, LP, Total Scorecard and GUS, required.
• Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience with a mortgage-based system, preferably Ellie Mae Encompass.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Positive attitude and dependability.
• Self-motivated and organized.
