Mid-Level Full Stack Developer - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Full Stack Developer to help us evolve our core platform. You will work within a modern stack, primarily utilizing Ruby on Rails for our backend API and React for our client-side applications.

In Short

• Build end-to-end features, from database migrations in Rails to dynamic UI components in React.
• Design and maintain RESTful (or GraphQL) APIs that are secure, documented, and performant.
• Create reusable, accessible, and responsive React components using modern patterns.
• Advocate for Test-Driven Development (TDD) and write unit and integration tests.
• Identify slow database queries and optimize frontend rendering.
• Assist in refactoring legacy code and updating dependencies.
• 3+ years of full-stack development experience required.
• Strong grasp of Ruby on Rails and React.js.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Experience with Git, Docker, and CI/CD workflows.

Requirements

• Experience with TypeScript in a React context is a bonus.
• Familiarity with GraphQL and experience deploying to Heroku or AWS is a plus.
• Understanding of Hotwire/Turbo is beneficial.
• Contributions to open-source projects are appreciated.
• Problem-solving skills and a passion for learning new tools.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly.
