Tax Manager - Trusts and Estates - Remote

Overview

This position is fully remote. We are seeking an experienced and highly detail-oriented Tax Manager with specialized expertise in trust and estate tax compliance and planning.

In Short

• Prepare and review Form 1041, Form 706, Form 709, and relevant state filings.
• Manage a portfolio of trust and estate clients, ensuring timely and accurate tax compliance.
• Provide strategic tax planning related to wealth transfer and charitable giving.
• Collaborate with attorneys and financial advisors on estate and trust administration.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff in tax return preparation and review.
• Stay updated on developments in estate and trust tax law.
• Respond to IRS and state tax notices; assist with audits as needed.
• Support business development through client meetings and networking.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; JD, CPA, or LLM in Taxation preferred.
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in public accounting or law firm tax department.
• Strong working knowledge of federal and state fiduciary tax law.
• Expertise in fiduciary accounting and trust taxation.
• Experience with tax preparation software.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
