Overview

The Director, Scientific Communications is a fully integrated strategic partner with all of the Global Program Teams (GPTs) as well as with Corporate Communications, who will collaborate with various other internal stakeholders as well as contribute to external communications, to ensure that scientific data and medical strategies across all assets are appropriately communicated.

In Short

  • Partner with Development Launch Leads for scientific communication strategies.
  • Support corporate communications to ensure scientific accuracy.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders for medical communications activities.
  • Serve as the scientific communications lead on Medical Strategy teams.
  • Attend key medical conferences to collect scientific data.
  • Lead development and maintenance of scientific platforms.
  • Manage external agencies and consultants.
  • Translate customer insights into scientific communication initiatives.
  • Coordinate scientific training for internal personnel.
  • Develop publications strategy for each asset.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a scientific field; Doctoral degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of scientific medical writing experience in pharmaceuticals.
  • Experience in Medical Affairs and Communications.
  • Experience in Cardiology/Cardiovascular Disease preferred.
  • Superior interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration and negotiation skills.
  • Project management and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of FDA, OIG, HIPAA guidelines.
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific data effectively.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% domestically.
