Senior Data Engineer - Remote

Overview

JustPlay is seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team and play a key role in building and maintaining a robust, scalable, and high-performing data infrastructure. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to design data pipelines, optimize performance, ensure data quality, and collaborate cross-functionally to meet evolving business needs. In Short

• Leverage your technical expertise to support the design, development, and maintenance of our data infrastructure
• Write maintainable, performant code and participate in code review effort
• Collaborate (both asynchronous and synchronous) with other functions to ensure data needs are addressed
• Create and maintain architecture and systems documentation
• Research and develop the most suitable methods to extract/transform/serve data from and to various sources
• Develop and maintain data quality standards and optimize data performance and scalability
• Ability to learn and experiment with new technologies and concepts to improve overall team performance and data stack

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience in data engineering
• Expertise of cloud computing platforms, especially Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, or C++
• Good understanding of software engineering principles (e.g. Git, Docker, code testing)
• Experience with reporting tools (e.g. Metabase, Looker)
• Proficient in SQL and data modeling skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
