Remote Part-Time Economist

Overview

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Part-Time Economist - REMOTE. In this role, you will support the Federal Railroad Administration by conducting Benefit Cost Analysis reviews for various grant applications. Your contributions will ensure compliance with federal guidelines while collaborating effectively with other reviewers. This temporary position offers flexibility and the opportunity to enhance the BCA review process as you engage in ongoing communication with stakeholders. All tasks will be performed remotely, allowing you to manage your work-life balance effectively.

In Short

• Conduct primary and secondary Benefit Cost Analysis (BCA) reviews for grant applications.
• Ensure accuracy and consistency in reviewing applicants’ BCAs and associated documentation.
• Identify discrepancies and provide a final Benefit Cost Ratio and score.
• Participate in onboarding training to familiarize with the BCA review process.
• Collaborate with secondary reviewers to discuss and finalize findings.
• Maintain organized documentation for the entire BCA review process.
• Provide feedback to improve review processes and training materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in analyzing project costs and benefits.
• Prior experience in benefit-cost analysis or related economic analysis.
• Familiarity with federal guidelines and public sector grant processes.
• Proficient in MS Office applications such as Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Excellent communication skills for preparing and delivering presentations and reports.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and capability to multi-task.
