Part-time Bilingual Health Information Services Coordinator - Remote

Overview

This is a part-time role with the potential to move to full-time in the spring. As an Information Services Coordinator, you will work under close supervision in the dissemination and interpretation of complex health and medical-related information regarding the causes, prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment of specific diseases and disorders under the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Institute’s purview.

In Short

• Managing incoming telephone calls, assessing caller’s needs, and verifying information.
• Drafting custom responses to written and email inquiries from the public.
• Conducting research and data gathering using online literature searches.
• Preparing original drafts of frequently asked questions written in plain language.
• Participating in developing materials and publications for public health inquiries.
• Reviewing health-related professional and scientific journals.
• Preparing monthly continuing education presentations on health topics.
• Providing onsite support at professional meetings.
• Cross-training across other NIH contracts.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• B.S./B.A. degree in a science or health-related discipline.
• Prior experience in health information or health education is desired.
• Familiarity with health care terminology is a plus.
• Experience using the Internet and resource databases is needed.
• Excellent client service skills and dependability.
• Task and detail-oriented with high accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
