Consultant - Corporate Water Strategy - Remote

Overview

The International Water Management Institute (IWMI) is a global research organization focused on sustainable water and land management to address water scarcity, food security, and climate change challenges. IWMI has recently partnered with SunCulture, a leading provider of solar-powered irrigation solutions, to explore strategies for monitoring water resource risks associated with the expansion of solar irrigation, ensuring sustainability in irrigation practices. IWMI seeks to engage a consultant to support data collection and analysis by informing the Water Strategy, to ensure that SunCulture’s business operations promote sustainable water use and management among its customers. The strategy will be co-created with SunCulture to align with their internal Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Strategy and be fully integrated into their business culture.

In Short

• Analyze relevant documents and data to inform the Water Strategy.
• Conduct stakeholder engagements through interviews and focus groups.
• Perform SWOT analysis and risk assessment on water-related risks.
• Develop components of the Water Strategy in collaboration with SunCulture.
• Create a business case and funding model for sustainable water management.
• Facilitate a validation workshop to refine the Water Strategy.
• Provide a phased implementation roadmap for the Water Strategy.
• Deliver inception report, draft technical report, and final strategy document.

Requirements

• Experience in water management and sustainability practices.
• Strong analytical skills, particularly in data analysis and risk assessment.
• Ability to engage with stakeholders effectively.
• Experience in developing ESG strategies.
• Knowledge of solar irrigation systems is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
• Proven track record in consultancy or advisory roles.
