Security Engineer - Remote

Overview

As a key contributor to the Security organization at Instructure, you will focus on engineering initiatives across all products and services, enhancing security for our SaaS platform.

In Short

• Design, implement, and maintain security tooling.
• Ensure secure configurations of cloud environments (e.g., AWS).
• Develop infrastructure-as-code (IaC) security practices.
• Manage CNAPP platforms and zerotrust architecture.
• Identify vulnerabilities in application code using static analysis tools.
• Collaborate with developers to enhance security in the SDLC.
• Perform vulnerability prioritization and remediation.
• Build security automation practices to manage security events.
• Participate in incident response activities.
• Communicate technical concepts to stakeholders effectively.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in security engineering or similar roles.
• Proficiency in securing cloud environments (AWS).
• Strong familiarity with DevSecOps and CI/CD security.
• Hands-on experience with security tools and vulnerability scanners.
• Understanding of OWASP Top 10 and secure application development.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt.
