Accountant for an NGO - Remote

Overview

We organize the project day that every student wished for: With the Future Day, we provide young people with basic knowledge in the areas of taxes, health insurance, finance, and their first own apartment. This year, we will reach more than 60,000 students in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

For our accounting department, we are looking for an accountant as soon as possible. The position is permanent and full-time.

In Short

• You will record and book all ongoing business transactions.
• You will be responsible for invoicing, payment transactions, and dunning.
• You will assist the tax advisor in preparing monthly and annual financial statements.
• You will process all travel expense reports.
• You will work closely with management and support, for example, in budget preparation.
• You will be the first point of contact for colleagues regarding accounting daily business.
• You will ensure that our foundation and donation funds are used properly and in compliance with tax and non-profit law.

Requirements

• Commercial training or comparable qualification.
• Professional experience in accounting.
• Ideally, professional experience in a non-profit organization.
• Very good German language skills, both written and spoken.
• Quick comprehension and willingness to engage with complex tasks.
• High initiative as well as a structured and results-oriented way of working.
