Sr. Systems Engineer - Remote

Overview

Initiate Government Solutions (IGS) is a fully remote IT services provider focused on delivering innovative Enterprise IT and Health Services solutions across the federal sector. The Sr. Systems Engineer will support the Department of Veterans Affairs.

In Short

• Fully remote position.
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Perform OS upgrades and patching.
• Administer Microsoft HYPER-V clusters.
• Conduct system optimization and troubleshooting.
• Patch systems for security compliance.
• Document system issues and modifications.
• Assist with RDP troubleshooting.
• Work with VA systems remotely.
• Maintain group policies as required by VA security.
• Participate in onsite client meetings as needed.

Requirements

• 3 years of Systems Administration experience, including Linux.
• BS degree in computer science or related field.
• Experience with Windows Server administration.
• Knowledge of RHEL and CentOS.
• Strong understanding of cloud security best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to obtain VA Public Trust clearance.
• Must be eligible to work in the USA without sponsorship.
• Prior remote work experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
