The Inpatient Medical Coder abstracts clinical information from health records and assigns accurate codes in accordance with Official Coding Guidelines and iMedX standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Completion of a formal coding program.
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), RHIT, RHIA, or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of three years coding experience.
• Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding systems.
• Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Intermediate level computer skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
