Overview

Are you an experienced Product Owner or Product Manager who loves the pace of global startups and is looking for your next challenge or opportunity?

We’re looking for a passionate individual to join our Canadian Product Team as a Product Owner. You will make an immediate impact by building products to support our business’s rapid growth. You will guide a payroll-focused squad through the development of complex features, work with others to prioritize the right things, and ensure we are shipping high-quality products that delight our users. You will work closely with a team of engineers, designers, and marketers, as well as customers, to define, build, and deliver mission-critical initiatives.

You should be a team player, natural leader, and consistent influencer in regards to the “how” and the “what” of your area of focus. You will constantly strive for domain expertise by immersing yourself in the payroll domain.

In Short

  • Be responsible for product delivery, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Define the scope of development for new product features and ongoing feature enhancements.
  • Write and prioritize epics, user stories, and define acceptance criteria.
  • Establish and maintain a high level of credibility with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leverage your analytical ability to back your decisions with data.
  • Effectively use data and analytics layered against high-quality user research to inform the direction of the product line.
  • Be responsible for tracking progress, assessing risks, coordinating delivery, and actively communicating contingency and mitigation plans for the team.
  • You will run various ad-hoc research and business analyses to assess opportunities and risks.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Product Management experience with a SaaS product.
  • Ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and user flows to articulate ideas to cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a high bar for quality when writing PRDs, user stories, reviewing designs, brainstorming technical approaches, and testing a feature before it is released.
  • Be humble, willing to learn, and do whatever is needed to help your team members accomplish the team goals.
  • Experience using agile development methodologies with globally distributed teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • World-class individual contributor and team player to thrive at Employment Hero.
  • Financial and accounting math knowledge or a sophisticated understanding of the digital finance space.
  • Ability to influence others through leadership and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to keep up in a fast-paced and pivot in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to analyze data as well as conduct research through various discussions with customers and teammates.
  • Completed Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.

Benefits

  • A generous budget for your home office
  • Remote First - Work 100% remotely from anywhere within Canada
  • Cutting-edge tools and technology
  • Reward and recognition programs - because great work should be recognized and rewarded
  • Employee Share Option Program: be an owner of Employment Hero
  • Annual Global Gathering - so far we’ve been to Thailand, Vietnam, Bali and are excited to meet in Dubai in September 2025
