Senior Counsel, Privacy & Data Governance - Remote

Overview

HubSpot is looking for a business-oriented and skilled attorney to join our Data, Privacy, and Security practice on the HubSpot Legal & Compliance Team.

In Short

• Lead data governance and data use practice.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework.
• Advise on legal and ethical considerations related to data analytics and AI.
• Ensure compliance with global data protection laws like GDPR and CCPA.
• Foster a culture of data governance through training and collaboration.
• Oversee data governance operations and audits.
• Drive strategic initiatives related to privacy and data protection.
• Work with cross-functional teams including engineering and marketing.
• 8+ years of legal experience required.
• J.D. degree and bar membership in at least one U.S. state.

Requirements

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
• 8+ years of experience in data privacy and governance.
• Knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, and other data protection laws.
• Experience in developing data governance frameworks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• CIPP/US or CIPP/E certification is a plus.
• Tech industry experience preferred.
