Principal DevSecOps Engineer - Remote

Overview

Heartbeat Health is looking for a Principal DevSecOps Engineer to own and evolve the systems that underpin our ability to build, secure, and scale our virtual-first cardiovascular care platform.

In Short

• Improve GitHub Actions pipelines to enhance build speed and visibility.
• Design and evolve AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
• Enhance logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting across services.
• Define and enforce cloud and application security best practices.
• Ensure HIPAA and SOC 2 Type II compliance.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for DevOps and cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with leadership to define technical strategy and roadmap.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, platform, or security engineering.
• Hands-on experience with AWS core services.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or equivalent).
• Proficient in CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitHub Actions).
• Experience with Kubernetes or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure and application security.
• Experience in regulated environments (HIPAA, SOC 2).
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and lead by influence.
• Proven success in high-autonomy, small-team, or startup environments.
