Overview

Handshake is looking to bring on a Support Specialist, Contractor to provide support to our employer, student, and career services users. This role is a 6 month contract with the possibility of contract extension or conversion to our permanent Support Specialist role upon evaluation of fit for the role and company needs.

In Short

  • Remote work available for U.S. residents in specified states.
  • 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm in your time zone.
  • Provide email and phone support to Handshake customers.
  • Resolve questions, bugs, feedback, and general inquiries.
  • Maintain a standard level of excellence in customer support experience.
  • Utilize internal tools for issue management between teams.
  • Contribute to improving customer experience and team operations.
  • Comfort with technical tools and concepts required.
  • Strong communication skills needed for complex topics.
  • Desire to help users build their careers.

Requirements

  • Located in specified U.S. states for remote work.
  • Ability to learn technical tools quickly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • High attention to detail and critical thinking abilities.
  • Experience in customer support or related fields preferred.
  • Growth mindset and eagerness to learn.
  • Experience with Zendesk is a plus.
  • Passion for helping others and promoting diversity.
  • Must be able to provide a regular schedule for assistance.
