Academic Writing Editor - Remote

Overview

As an Academic Writing Editor at GPTZero, you will set the standard for writing feedback and fact checking for millions of users. You will leverage your skills in high-quality writing and analytical thinking to improve real writing, working closely with a world-class team of researchers.

In Short

• Provide detailed writing feedback and rubric-based grading on high school and university level writing.
• Give written feedback to AI writing coaches to enhance their focus and thoroughness.
• Create fact checks on argumentative, research-level writing in social sciences.
• Develop new writing coaches based on popular, real-world rubrics.
• This is a part-time contract role (20 hrs/week) with opportunities for contract-to-hire.

Requirements

• Fluent or better proficiency in English.
• Experience in teaching writing at a college/research level.
• Strong debater mindset and superb ability to steelman an argument.
• History of strong results on standardized writing exams.
• Strong GPA in writing or social science related subjects.
• Able to understand and execute new tasks quickly.
• Driven, thoughtful, creative, and empathetic.
• Efficient typist and proficient with web tools.
• Remote work is fine, with required availability to meet 1 hour, 3x a week from 10-6pm ET.
