Senior Software Engineer (Backend) - Remote

Overview

GoFundMe is looking to build out our Giving team with a Senior Backend Engineer who is passionate about helping people help each other by optimizing the GoFundMe fundraiser page.

In Short

• Collaborate with a team of engineers and product management to implement new features.
• Responsible for development, testing, deployment, documentation, and maintenance of backend services.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain internal standards.
• Participate in on-call rotations for urgent engineering issues.
• Recognize technical debt and propose solutions.
• Advocate for improvements to the codebase.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience with backend programming languages (Java, Kotlin, Python, PHP).
• Experience with relational database design.
• Experience developing GraphQL or REST APIs.
• Experience using Git in a workplace environment.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling.
• Experience in an agile software development process.
• Experience with performance and optimization problems.
• Experience with application performance monitoring tools.
